Those Sneaky Pounds and other things:

The morning of January 1st, I got out of bed, groaned and pulled out the Tanita hidden under the bed.

Might as well see the damage.

I had to get on and off that scale five times before I accepted the number on the read out dial . . . 167.4 pounds!

Yee Haw!!!!

Not only do those pounds sneak up on you, apparently they can sneak off too!

Haven't weighed 167 in over 6 years (which didn't last long) though, I did see a blip of 167 in November of 2007, it was only for a few hours . . .

Since losing on the Crack the Fat diet, I was maintaining around 173/174.

I'm going to be emailing some of you with an attachment of my resume as a rich text file. I do not have Microsoft Works (only Tasks) and cannot send a doc file. Anyway, I would love, love, love any advice you might have (I promise I can handle constructive criticism) on improving my chances for getting an interview!

I have applied for many administrative assistant positions because that is where my strongest skills are but have not been able to secure interviews and I would love, love, love any feedback you might have.

Every rejection email/letter that I get has me wondering . . . why? My former supervisors have all given me great references (for the one interview I scored for a foodstamps clerk), my criminal background is clean, etc.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Vickie wanted to know if I cut my hair myself in the bathroom (I thought that was so funny and it gave me a much needed laugh . . . I was kind of dramatic about it!)

The girl who has cut my hair for the last year . . . had a bad day. I asked to go shorter and it looked like some weird version of the Kate (of Jon and Kate) thing . . . only ugly. So I waited three days and went to another hairdresser and asked her to just give me a pixie. Currently, my hair is as short as Jamie Lee Curtis' on those laxative yogurt commercials.

Short.

I am an Admin Assistant currently so if you want to send me your resume, I will take a look at it. I do not want to put my email address for all the world to see so I hope this comment somehow links to it for you.

Woohoo on the 167!! That's great!!

I'll bet your hair is really cute - you just aren't used to it yet! And I have so been there - my favorite girl (who I still go to, btw) chopped the heck out of my hair one time. She was talking and cutting and talking and cutting until she finally realized what was happening. I thought it was horrible, but everyone else kept telling me it looked great - either they were lying or I was just overly critical of myself!

So sorry that you have to be at the hearing - that really stinks. And hopefully one day, his stench will only be a very faint memory.

Hi there - if you have the time you might consider getting Open Office so that you can have the facility of saving your resume in doc format. Their site is www.openoffice.org/ and you can download and use for free. It has everything MS Off has. Read a review before you make up your mind.
Good luck at the hearing and in your new year.

Wow, you're the first person I've ever come across whose pounds sneak OFF and not ON. Way to go! All the best for 2010!

Sorry that you have to go to the hearing...that will suck...but maybe, just maybe, it will feel good to sit there and tell the truth to his face and to the world. I'm thinking it could actually be a really cleansing thing for you. Or not. Heck, I don't know, but I am trying to look at the bright side! ;-)

As to the weight...YAY RAH!!! I wish that would happen to me!!! I know how great it feels to see those lower numbers. I love the Crack the Fat...even though I've gained a bit over the holidays by not sticking strictly to it, I know that those lbs will come off quickly now that I am back on the wagon. :-)

Having weight slip off when you aren't expecting it is a wonderful way to start the the new year. Yayyy!

I second Waterbob's suggestion to consider Open Office. Free software options are Good Things, as is the ability to have a .doc file.

New hair can be a good thing, even if unexpected. New you, new hair, new year. Maybe it be good to you :)

I had to go back today and ask them to fix my haircut from Monday-had aline bob and wanted more flippy like the one girl in Twilight. One side ended up with two chunks missing and a very heavy obvious line. I had myself ready for them to say it would have to be cut above my ear, but the girl was able to fix it ok (she had blue hair), and it is what I wanted in the first place, just with a couple "chunks" missing.
Yay for the loss.
So sorry about the trial. Hopefully it will happen soon and be over with!

woo hoo on the new low weight! I know it feels good. I could use some sneaking off of pounds right now myself! If you still have my e-mail I'd love to see your resume. I was once a recruiter. I have a little bit of experience with that. I know you can't post but it would be great to see pictures. Happy New year if I did not tell that before. I have been preoccupied..did I spell that right??

Somehow my comment wouldn't take---anyway I was saying how similarly my life is going to yours. I got a bad haircut the other day and had to go to another salon to have someone fixxxx it! It is so short now! And I am job looking too. I went back to school and got my B.S. in Human Services thinking I would finally get into some really menaingful work---just when the bottom fell out for our economy and agencies I might be hired at are not getting funding. I am temping as an admin asst again! OH I started on WW again today because I weigh 166 lbs!!!!!!!!!!!!!! For me at 5'4" I am feeling like I can't recognize myself and I don't want to feel familiear with this weight.

Best to you!!!!
