Working for a living

So, as some of you may know, I started a job on Feb. 8th.

I'm sooooooo tired.

And this job thingy, is seriously invading my internet time!

I work for the great state, in the public assistance department, where I interview clients and determine their eligibility for benefits.

I spent the first three weeks on the job reading policy and procedure and filing.

Then four weeks in training classes . . . on policy and procedure.

One week back in the office . . . where I realized "real life" cases don't equal "classroom 'perfect world' scenarios".

For the next two weeks, I'm in the "real world" training class, working cases but with supervision.

It's a tough, tough job.

And the pay sucks.

I really want to like this job.

Anyway, the kids are in their busy season - baseball, t-ball, dance competitions, band competitions/concerts, school programs . . . just eating into my "me" time where I would read blogs and post on occasion.

Maybe this weekend I'll get a little caught up.

So glad to hear from you! I can imagine it is quite an adjustment. And it sounds as if you get up, rush to work, work, come home, do kids stuff, fall into bed, repeat. Very little ME time in that schedule I agree.

I am glad you have a job. I want to like mine, too, but it is kinda hard right now. It has to be a big adjustment for you. Thanks for taking the time to post so we know how you are doing.

I started a new job in January too...and it cuts way into blogging time. Hoepfully the job will get a little easier as time goes on. Hang in there!

time for an update - I just left a note on Laura's blog too.

Happy Mother's Day!

It'll get better ... I don't always like my job, but most of the time I do. And a lot of time it's downright fun around here! (But that usually has nothing to do with work!)

Hope all is well. :)

time for an update - it doesn't have to be long - just need to hear how things are going for you and the kids.
